When Kevin Edwards and his ex-girlfriend, Juanita Grayson, wake up on Dark Earth, a world ruled by demons, all they want to know is “Why?”

“Why are we here and what are we supposed to do? Why were we chosen to save this world?”

While some answers are given by Wiseman J, leader of the rebellion against the demonic horde, many secrets about Dark Earth remain unanswered.

For instance, who is the Demon Master, the red-eyed, cloaked leader of the demons and why has he enslaved the humans of Dark Earth?

In order to learn the answers and save the world, Kevin and Juanita are each given a ring that transforms them into the super-powered beings Angelo™ and Angeline™: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™.

Angelo and Angeline make quick work of the demons they encounter on their first mission. But, when the Demon Master learns of their arrival, he unleashes an army of super-powered demons to kill the new heroes and destroy the remaining humans of Dark Earth.

Aided by Wiseman J’s niece Melanie, a kind-hearted young woman armed only with a bow and arrows, and Jeff: Ward of Law, who was Dark Earth’s legendary hero before the S.O.L.A.D.’s arrival, Angelo and Angeline begin their mission to end the Demon Master’s reign. 

As the war rages on, the young heroes come face to face with their mortality, humanity, spirituality and destinies. Some allies will fall by the wayside and some innocent people will lose their lives.

If Kevin and Juanita want to save the people of Dark Earth from evil and get back home alive, they will have to embrace the light and fight, while discovering their frightening connection to the Demon Master.

About the Author

Inspired as a child by Superman's alter ego Clark Kent, a go-getter reporter at The Daily Planet, Tyrone Tony Reed Jr.'s writing career began in his teen years.

He was a Teen Panelist for The Commercial Appeal, in Memphis, Tenn., for two years and a reporter for The Teen Appeal newspaper, also in Memphis, for three years.

While earning his journalism degree at Franklin College in Franklin, Ind., Tyrone held several positions on the college's newspaper, The Franklin.

Tyrone also worked as a crime reporter for four years at The Jackson Sun in Jackson, Tenn.

He is now a freelance writer, who is working on the second book in the "S.O.L.A.D.™: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™" series.

Thanks for Pledging!

I just wanted to thank everyone for pledging and spreading the word!

Your support for this third and final Kickstarter project to publish my novel has meant so much to me.

Since I was not able to raise the funds I need to publish the hardcover copies of the novel, I plan to sell the novel as an e-book (hopefully starting next week) and will let you know when it is available.

Even though I didn't reach my monetary goals, fundraising through Kickstarter has been very successful, My novel has received national and international attention, media attention and the attention of potential readers.

It also showed me that there are people out there who believe and support dreams and I count you all among those people.

I believe in my dreams even more and this has taught me that you have to fight for your dreams, no matter what happens.

Don't give up on the dreams God has placed in your heart. He will bless them to come true. It's hard work to keep fighting and working towards your dreams becoming reality, but it will be worth it.

Meet the Heroes of S.O.L.A.D.™!

In 2000, during my senior year at Whitehaven High School in Memphis, TN, God gave me an idea of two characters for a novel who later became Kevin Edwards and Juanita Grayson.
The title of the novel came instantly: S.O.L.A.D™: Soldiers ofLight Against Darkness™.

And as quickly as the title came, so did the superhero identities of Kevin and Juanita: Angelo™ & Angeline™.

I wanted to share with you how they looked in 2000 (rough sketches, very rough LOL) and how they look now (thanks to Hero Machine 2.0 & Marvel's Create a Superhero.)

I have some artists in mind to do the future illustrations of the characters in the novel!

I hope you see that my passion to publish the novel is strong and that you pledge to the project and spread the word.

Final Stretch: 8 Days to Pledge Before Kickstarter Project Ends!

Hello Everyone!

Well, this is it! The final stretch of my third Kickstarter project is here. There are only 8 days remaining and only 16 percent of the goal has been pledged! But, there is still time to PLEDGE & SPREAD THE WORD!

Next week, I’ll be transitioning from my 20s and entering my 30s (on June 6 at 12:11 p.m.) There would be no better birthday gift I could receive this year, at this time of change, than to have this Kickstarter project become a SUCCESS!

I know it’s POSSIBLE! I’ve seen miracles happen and have had many happen to me!

This project isn’t just for me. This project is a gift that keeps on giving. S.O.L.A.D.™ is a story for everyone to enjoy and share with others. Now, it would be easy to just sell the novel as an e-book, but so many people don’t have computers or e-book devices and the only way they would be able to enjoy the story is through a physical copy.

This is my THIRD time trying to raise the funds to make this dream come true. Please, please HELP ME! This has been a very hard road, but I’ve continued to fight and press on!

But, I can’t do this alone! So many people have already pledged (with several pledging again after the first two Kickstarter projects didn't reach their goals).

This is the closest I’ve ever been to seeing S.O.L.A.D.™ published, with 16 backers and over $1,600 pledged.

I’m almost in tears as I write this because I BELIEVE in this project and I know that if you give it a chance, YOU’LL BELIEVE IN IT TOO.

And to show you that I know that you’ll love S.O.L.A.D.™, throughout the day, I will be posting about S.O.L.A.D.™ and the story of its creation and also releasing sketches of characters and a little more background on them.
